Winter Wellness with Essential Oils

 

I really couldn't imagine a winter without my essential oils! I love that I can make up lots of little potions for my family to support their bodies to heal naturally. I would love to share with you some of the ways we support our families health through winter with some natural and safe remedies. 

 

 

Our fav winter wellness single oils: 

Frankincense 

I add Frankincense to our Immunity bomb and often add to the diffuser with Easy Air when the kids have a cough. Frankincense supports a healthy cellular function and has many health benefits to keep us healthy and well during winter. 

Tea Tree/ Melaleuca

Tea Tree is also added to our Immunity Bomb. Tea Tree can be used internally with veggie caps to support healthy immune function and also in a diffuser to help purify the air and for clear breathing. 

Lemon

Lemon is also used in many of our remedies. Lemon provides a healthy immunity boost and also supports healthy respiratory function. Lemon is a very versatile oil and a must have for winter. 

Oregano

Oregano is often called 'natures antibiotic' and is an important part of the Immunity Bomb. Oregano is a 'hot' oil and should always be diluted. Oregano has many immune boosting properties and is very high in antioxidants. 

Ginger

Ginger is the perfect addition to the throat soother. Ginger has many healing properties and will support your health during winter. 

Manuka

Manuka is the perfect oil for winter wellness. It is great for purifying the air and you can also dilute and apply topically to the throat when its sore. Manuka has many calming and healing properties. 

Our fav winter wellness oil blends: 

On Guard

We usually go through a few bottles of On Guard during winter. On Guard is a protective blend which supports healthy immune function and includes wild orange, clove, cinnamon, eucalyptus & rosemary. It protects our bodies against environmental threats and I usually apply it to our feet daily to prevent getting unwell, especially before and school and kinder! 

Easy Air/ Breathe

This is also a very popular blend throughout winter and is known as the respiratory blend and includes peppermint, eucalyptus, tea tree, lemon & cardamon. We diffuse this often in our bedrooms overnight to support breathing and any respiratory problems. We also make up some vapour rubs to use on our chest, back and feet. 

On Guard Throat Drops

The On Guard protecting throat drops are an easy way to receive the immune boosting benefits and I always try and have some of these in my hand bag. They are an all natural throat drop which includes the oils in the On Guard blend. Easy, natural and a must have for winter. 

Winter Wellness Remedies: 

Immunity Bomb

Add to an empty roller ball 10 drops of Frankincense, 10 drops of tea tree, 10 drops of on guard, 10 drops of lemon, 10 drops of oregano and top with Fractionated Coconut Oil. Use when you need an immunity hit. When we are unwell I use every 3-4 hours. (oil amounts can be less for children or by personal choice. As noted, Im just sharing what I use and am not giving any medical advice). 

Sinus Steamer

Add 5 drops of Easy Air to a bowl of boiled water. Place towel over head, close eyes and inhale in big deep breaths.

Throat Soother 

Get a teaspoon of manuka honey and add one drop lemon and one drop ginger. Take internally.
