This weeks’ Oil Spotlight is the fantastic Spikenard.

Spikenard is sourced from Nepal and brings with it many great benefits. From being used to promote healthy skin, to everyday uses, such as perfume, this ancient oil is very popular.

Spikenard is best known for its distinct woody, spicy scent and can be used alongside other oils for an extra kick. Some oils that blend well with Spikenard are; Clove, Frankincense and Lavender.

Here are some great ways to use it, check them out below:

1. For the Face

This is a great blend for the skin due to its cleansing and clarifying properties. This blend will help promote healthy looking skin every day! Simply add a few drops of the oil to your daily cleanser, anti ageing product or even moisturiser.

Spikenard is also great for the body, commonly used in perfumes! To make you own delicious perfume, why not add it with other complimentary oils such as Clove, Frankincense, Geranium, Lavender or Wild Orange.

Another great benefit of Spikenard is the aroma. Diffusing this oil can help promote a calm environment and help with relaxation! Why not put this oil in the diffuser and let it help uplift your feelings?

As mentioned above, Spikenard is brilliant for helping promote a clam and relaxing feeling. You can apply topically or diffuse the oil to really get the benefits. Simply apply one or two drops to the back of the neck or the temples and let the oil help improve your mood.

Spikenard is very popular for those wanting a little extra help when trying to get to sleep! It is known to help maintain physical and mental balance as well as help the feelings of anxiety and panic. Simply diffuse the oil just before bedtime to help get a good nights rest!
