Do you have an employee or entrepreneur mindset?
/I've always had entrepreneurial tendencies. At 18 when I moved to Melbourne and started working for a nanny agency, I started working on plans about how I was going to create my own agency and by the time I started managing childcare centres, I was looking around for potential sites to start my own. But as an entrepreneur by heart, an entrepreneurial mindset is critical for those wanting to start their own business.
Sometimes people that have been an employee for such a long time and feel that 'thats the way it is' have difficulties seeing things through the lens of an entrepreneurial mindset.
Here’s a couple of examples of what a employee mindset vs. an entrepreneurial mindset might look like for soulful business owners:
Employee Mindset: I'm putting in all this work and if I calculate it at an hourly rate its not very much
Entrepreneur Mindset: I understand that I will be putting in the work now and will get paid little and with consistency it will pay off later on.
Employee Mindset: I want to know everything I can before I get started.
Entrepreneur Mindset: I’m ready to give it all a go and see what works and learn as I go.
Employee Mindset: I have so many big dreams. One day Ill make them happen.
Entrepreneur Mindset: I wake up everyday and take action towards my biggest dreams.
Employee mindset: It was someone else’s fault. (the company, market, mentors, product)
Entrepreneur mindset: I take full responsibility for how my business is going.
Employee mindset: This isn't working. I quit.
Entrepreneur mindset: This isn't working, what else can I do differently?
